Configurations and Hardware
Many options and configurations are available. Our
Dedicated Servers are not "cookie cutter" servers. Each is built from
the motherboard up (using all new hardware) to meet your exact
needs, specifications, and budget.
When you use an EsoSoft Dedicated Server, EsoSoft is responsible
for all server hardware (hard drives, motherboard, CPU, etc.). When
replacement hardware is needed, only new, unused hardware is placed in
your server. Unlike what you'll find most anywhere else, EsoSoft will
never use a "hand-me-down" hardware item for your Dedicated Server.
At EsoSoft, we use only top-quality, high-end hardware to create
our Dedicated Servers. Our list of manufacturers includes
Intel,
IBM,
ASUS,
ABIT, and
BoomRack. You'll be proud

Location
EsoSoft Corporation's data center, located in the Garland
Building in Los Angeles, houses all EsoSoft Dedicated Servers. The
building, built in 1983 by First Interstate Bank at an astronomical
cost of $350 million, originally housed the third largest data
center in the country, processing $90 million in checks each day and
controlling the bank ATM network for 13 western states. Today, the
building's redundant infrastructure is ideally suited to the mission
critical needs of the Internet industry. EsoSoft's data center
offers raised flooring, online UPS, stand-by power generation,
pre-action fire suppression, data-center grade HVAC, redundant
network connections and fully secured access.

Power and California Rolling Black-Outs
California rolling black-outs do not affect the City of Los
Angeles. Unlike most of California, the City of Los Angeles chose not
to deregulate electricity when the idea was popular. Electricity is
provided by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and is not
subject to black-outs mandated by the State Power Grid.Our facility
is served by a preferred service grid of the Los Angeles DWP that
provides service to only one other building. The facility is also
served by a second power grid for redundancy. AC power is fed from the
Uninterruptible Power Supply system. Currently there are four 1,100KW
emergency generators supplied by 90,000 gallons of diesel fuel. At
current load, the fuel will power these generators for approximately
30 days without re-fueling. These generators alone could power a city
of 20,000 people.

Uninterruptible Power Supply
Uninterruptible Power is provided by five 560KVA Emerson
UPS systems with 12 hours of battery back up. All equipment within
the data center can be run on this battery power until the four
diesel generators begin to operate, which takes from 5-7 seconds.

Seismic Features
In an 8.3 magnitude earthquake, the raised floor system of
the data center was engineered to move just 3/4 of an inch.

Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning
Liebert HVAC units within the facility are served from
the building's central plant consisting of three 1,000 ton and two
500 ton centrifugal chillers, each with two pumps for redundancy.
One 1,000 ton chiller can cool the entire building on a 90-degree
day, providing four chillers for additional redundancy.

Fire Protection
Pre-action fire suppression systems are located throughout
the data center and the building.

Security
The lobby security station is manned twenty-four hours
per day, seven days per week. Admission to the building is
controlled by institutional banking quality systems and procedures.
Entry is via security personnel authorization only. Mobility beyond
the lobby is controlled by card key access. Separate card key and
PIN access is needed for the data center. Additionally, the data
center's NOC is manned 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days
per year. Surveillance and video cameras are located throughout the
data center.

Prices
Dedicated Servers start as low as $99.00 per month including
bandwidth!The initial minimum contract term for Dedicated Server
service is three months. After the initial term, the contract
automatically converts to a month-to-month term unless a new contract
is written.
